Who can list

“Podiatrist” and “chiropodist” are protected titles in the UK: to use either, you must be on the chiropodist / podiatrist part of the HCPC register. Registration numbers for this part start with CH. On the join form, choose “Podiatrist” as your profession and “Health and Care Professions Council: chiropodist / podiatrist” as your register.

On Find, you appear under the Podiatrist profession. You can say in your own words what you offer and where you work.

Counsellors, psychotherapists, psychologists and psychiatrists are just as welcome, and every profession is listed on the same terms. See our page for practitioners.

Which register we check

The HCPC register. We search by your name and the registration number you give us (for example CH followed by digits) and check they match a current entry on the chiropodist / podiatrist part of the register. Our guide to checking a register shows clients how to do the same.

What you get, free

  • A public profile on Find a therapist, if you choose to appear, under the Podiatrist profession on Find. It shows your register and number so people can check you themselves.
  • Private introduction requests. People write to you through us and your email address is never shown.
  • A members’ directory and peer space, messaging, and referrals between colleagues across professions.
  • Links and resources, including a private practice start-here list.
  • A free membership badge linking to your profile.

There are no paid tiers, featured spots, reviews or ratings, and we don’t take commission. Being listed doesn’t guarantee enquiries, clients or income. Therapist Circle is new and still growing, so there may be few listings from your profession yet.

How to list your practice

  1. Fill in the short join form with your name, profession, register and registration number. It takes about two minutes and you get member access straight away. The join form asks you to confirm that you have appropriate professional indemnity insurance or arrangements for the work you offer.
  2. We look you up on the public register by hand before your profile appears on Find. We don’t promise a specific timing.
  3. When your name and number match, your profile can go live. You can hide it or delete your account at any time. We re-check listed practitioners at least once a year, and we don’t run identity checks.

Other places to be found

You can be listed in more than one place, and being on Therapist Circle doesn’t affect any professional-body membership. These are the organisations we know of for this profession. We are independent of all of them, and details can change, so please check their own pages for who can be listed and any cost.

Things to know

  • The HCPC register can show extra entries on a podiatrist’s record, such as prescribing or podiatric surgery. We only check that your name and number match a current entry; we don’t check or display those extras.
  • We don’t check membership of the College of Podiatry or any other professional body.
  • We check that your name and registration number match a current entry on the public register. A check is only correct on the day it was made, and it isn’t an identity check or a guarantee.
