A free UK directory for registered practitioners

If you’re a registered UK therapy practitioner looking for somewhere to list your practice for free, you can join Therapist Circle at no cost. There’s no subscription, no commission and no card details asked for. Every profession we list is welcome on the same terms.

List your practice free One short form, about 2 minutes.

What is free

  • A public listing on Find a therapist, if you choose to appear, once your register entry has been checked.
  • Private introduction requests from people looking for help. Your email address is never shown.
  • A members' directory, forum and messaging with other registered practitioners.
  • Free resources you can use yourself or share with clients, including a printable client toolkit and plain-English client guides.
  • A free website badge linking to your profile.

There are no paid tiers, featured placements, ads, star ratings or reviews.

Who can join

You can join if you are a UK practitioner on a statutory register (for example the Health and Care Professions Council) or a professional body or accredited register (for example BACP, UKCP, NCPS, BABCP, ACP, AFT, BAPT and others). That includes, with equal standing:

  • Arts therapists (art, music, drama), dance movement psychotherapists
  • Child and adolescent psychotherapists, family and systemic psychotherapists, play therapists
  • Counsellors, psychotherapists, CBT therapists, psychologists
  • Occupational therapists, physiotherapists, dietitians, speech and language therapists, psychiatrists

Allied health professionals: see our page for occupational therapists, physiotherapists, dietitians, speech and language therapists and others.

Pages by profession: where to list your practice (occupational therapists, physiotherapists, dietitians, speech and language therapists, arts therapists, play therapists and dance movement psychotherapists).

Every public listing shows the practitioner’s register and number so people can check it themselves. Some titles (such as counsellor) are not protected in the UK — that is why we ask for a register entry, not why one profession is preferred. For plain-English guides by profession, see what each profession does.

How the register check works

  1. You sign up with your name, profession, register and registration number. You get member access straight away.
  2. We look up your entry on the public register by hand before your profile appears on Find. We do not promise a specific timing.
  3. When the name and number match, your profile can appear on public Find, with the date the entry was last checked.
  4. We re-check listed practitioners periodically, at least once a year. If we cannot match an entry, the profile stays off Find and we get in touch.

We do not ask for a passport or driving licence, and we do not check identity. We check that your name and registration number match a current entry on the public register.

Wondering about fees? Therapist Circle is free for practitioners and clients.

Common questions

Do you welcome occupational therapists, physiotherapists, dietitians and speech and language therapists?

Yes, with equal standing. They join with their Health and Care Professions Council registration and we check it on the public register. See our page for allied health professionals for the full details.

Is it free to list my practice?

Yes. Joining and listing on Therapist Circle is free, with no subscription, commission or card details.

Which professions can join?

UK practitioners on a statutory register (such as the Health and Care Professions Council) or a professional body or accredited register. That includes arts therapists, dance movement psychotherapists, play therapists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, dietitians, speech and language therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists (on the General Medical Council specialist register), and counsellors and psychotherapists (including child and adolescent, and family and systemic). If your body isn’t in the join list, there’s an Other option.

How is registration checked?

We look up your name and number on the public register by hand before your profile appears on Find, and we re-check listed practitioners periodically, at least once a year. We do not verify identity.

Can I pay to appear higher in search results?

No. There are no paid tiers, featured placements or adverts, so every practitioner is listed on the same terms.

Do I need my own website?

No. Your profile works as a simple page people can find and contact you through. If you do have a website, you can add our free badge linking to your profile.

Can I hide my profile or leave?

Yes. You can hide your profile from Find or delete your account at any time.

Important information

Please read. Therapist Circle is an independent directory run by Therapist Circle Ltd and founded by Dr Chia Barsen. It is not a provider of therapy and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the NHS, the Health and Care Professions Council, BACP, UKCP, NCPS, BABCP or any other professional body or directory named here. Being listed does not guarantee enquiries, clients or income. A register check is a point-in-time look-up only; you remain responsible for your own registration, insurance, data protection (UK GDPR), safeguarding, advertising standards and your professional body's code. Nothing here is legal, financial or business advice. Free services can change; we will tell members in advance of any change to the terms. See our terms of use and privacy notice.
