Accessibility
We want everyone to be able to use Therapist Circle, including people who use a screen reader, magnification, a keyboard or voice control, and people who prefer plain, calm pages.
What we have done
- Every page has a “Skip to main content” link and uses headings, labels and landmarks so screen readers can move around it.
- Calm view gives softer colours, bigger text and no motion. Your choice is remembered on this device only.
- Pages follow your device’s dark mode setting, and text gets bigger when you zoom in your browser.
- Audio intros on practitioner profiles come with a written transcript.
- Some guides are also written in Easy Read, such as choosing a therapist.
- The site loads no third-party scripts, so it stays fast on slow connections.
What we know is not perfect
- We have not yet had the site independently audited, so we cannot say that it fully meets the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. We aim to meet that standard and fix problems as we find them.
- Some downloadable PDFs and worksheets may not work well with every screen reader.
- Photos that practitioners upload may not have detailed descriptions.
If something does not work for you
Please tell us through the contact form: say which page and what went wrong. If you need information from the site in another format, such as large print, plain text or Easy Read, ask in the same way and we will do our best to help. If you cannot use the form, ask someone you trust to send it for you.
