Allied Health Professionals: Join Therapist Circle Free

In short: We’re a free UK directory, and we welcome occupational therapists, physiotherapists, dietitians, speech and language therapists, arts therapists and other registered practitioners. You join with your register and registration number, we check it on the public register by hand, and your profile can then appear on Find. It costs nothing.

Uses your browser’s own voice. Nothing is sent to us.

Please read. This is general information written by Therapist Circle, not medical, clinical or professional advice. We’re a directory: we don’t provide therapy, we don’t recommend or guarantee any practitioner, and we’re not a crisis service. If you need urgent help, please use the crisis box at the bottom of this page. Services and rules change, so check the official websites linked here.

Who can join

We list practitioners from many professions, and every profession has equal standing. On this page we are speaking to allied health professionals, but counsellors, psychotherapists, psychologists and psychiatrists are just as welcome, and this page adds to the rest of the site rather than replacing anything on it. These are the professions you can join as:

  • Occupational therapists, physiotherapists, dietitians and speech and language therapists
  • Arts therapists (art, music and drama), dance movement psychotherapists and play therapists
  • Psychologists, psychiatrists, counsellors and psychotherapists (including child and adolescent, and family and systemic)

Our page for practitioners has the full list. Profession guides for clients are here: occupational therapists, physiotherapists, dietitians, speech and language therapists and arts therapists.

Which register we check

Some of these titles are protected by law, so we ask for the matching register. Each name below links to that register’s own website.

ProfessionRegister we check
Occupational therapists, physiotherapists, dietitians, speech and language therapists, arts therapists, practitioner psychologistsHealth and Care Professions Council (HCPC) register
Dance movement psychotherapistsAssociation for Dance Movement Psychotherapy UK registers
Play therapistsBritish Association of Play Therapists or Play Therapy UK
Counsellors and psychotherapistsThe register of your professional body, for example the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy or the UK Council for Psychotherapy

If your register is not in our join list, there is an Other option, and you can tell us. If you are not on a public register we can check, we can’t list you yet. We don’t add a profession to the site until we can check it properly.

What members get

  • A free profile that people can find on Find a therapist, if you choose to appear. It shows your register and number so people can check you themselves.
  • Private introduction requests. People write to you through us, and your email address is never shown.
  • A members’ directory and peer space to talk with colleagues across professions, plus messaging.
  • Referrals between colleagues, so you can pass an enquiry on to someone who is a better fit.
  • Links and resources, including a private practice start-here list.
  • A free badge for your own website, linking to your profile.

We don’t sell paid tiers, featured spots, reviews or ratings, so everyone is listed on the same terms. Therapist Circle is new and still growing, so there may be few listings from your profession yet.

How to join

  1. Fill in the short join form with your name, profession, register and registration number. It takes about two minutes, and you get member access straight away.
  2. We look you up on the public register by hand before your profile appears on Find. We don’t promise a specific timing.
  3. When your name and number match, your profile can go live. You can hide it or delete your account at any time.

We re-check listed practitioners at least once a year. A check is only correct on the day it was made, and we don’t run identity checks.

How to check a register

Anyone can search the register of the practitioner’s profession by name or number. Our guide to checking a register has a link for every profession we list. Please check the register yourself and don’t rely on a directory alone, including ours.

Common Questions

Is it free for allied health professionals to join Therapist Circle?

Yes. Joining and listing is free for every profession, with no subscription, commission, paid placement or card details.

Which allied health professionals can join Therapist Circle?

Occupational therapists, physiotherapists, dietitians, speech and language therapists and arts therapists (art, music and drama) can join with their Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration. Dance movement psychotherapists, play therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, counsellors and psychotherapists are also welcome, with equal standing.

Which register does Therapist Circle check for occupational therapists, physiotherapists, dietitians and speech and language therapists?

The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) register. These titles are legally protected, so we ask for your HCPC registration number and look up your name and number on the public HCPC register by hand before your profile appears on Find.

What do I get as a member?

A free profile that people can find on Find a therapist if you choose to appear, private introduction requests with your email address never shown, a members' directory and peer space, messaging and referrals between colleagues, links and resources, and a free badge for your own website.

What if my profession is not listed?

The join form has an Other option for a register or professional body that is not in the list. Tell us through the contact page and we will look at it. We only list people we can check on a public register.

Last reviewed 28 October 2026. General information only. We are independent: not affiliated with or endorsed by the NHS, the HCPC or any professional body. We’re a directory, not a therapy provider and not a crisis service.
